Thread: Radiator Fitment

Generally speaking more surface area means more cooling, bigger cooling better. That doesn't mean the smaller one won't do the trick though.

I have been thinking about buying some sort of smaller all aluminum rad and making it triple pass. Maybe take a band saw cut some slots into the endtanks laterally and brazing or soldiering in a few small cuts of sheet metal. This would make better use of the radiators surface, in turn cooling better with less space and reducing some weight at the front of the car, and making some more room. I think it could make a good alternative to the Koyo.

they're all stick SER size, get and NX radiator and call it a day. here's one under $100

what is your current setup like?

Engine is stock. I've been steadily upgrading the car, and I'm almost finished with the suspension. I'll get to the engine... eventually.

The ebay find is nice, but I'm trying to avoid the plastic tank... and I don't mind spending a little extra to avoid them. The radiators I've linked are not all stock.... some are, some are bigger and some are the same size or a bit smaller but are all aluminum.

I could probably pull the trigger on any of the ones listed in this thread and be happy, though I am leaning towards the aluminum.

just wondered maybe in the future the radiator could effect cleanence issues maybe not, just depends on what you are gonna do

The Proliance is chinese junk. We used to sell them through the shop, 75% came back in less than a year and a half. These were stock replacement plastic/aluminum, you 'might' have better luck with all aluminum. Just my $.02
