Well,last night my buddy comes over with his brand new 08 ser spec-v
we do a lil bs then we go for a drive.ultimately we cant resist and a battle ensued.on 1 of several impromptu starts i find myself momentarily distracted by a phone call,lose my concentration and make a very rookie mistake.Somehow,the shift gate didnt put up much fight,top of third grabbing fourth,i found second.my beloved de,completely unprepared for the assault,finds itself suddenly shooting to 9000 rpms pegging the tach and sending a shudder thru the whoile drivetrain.At least it sounds like a wrx now.
anyone got a head they wanna sell?

Your name comes true, it was a "power shift". Another reason why people should not use cell phones when driving.

That sucks though.

I have two good heads. One that is strait up bare with no springs or anything ready to be ported and built. Or I have a complete head ready to be thrown in. PM me Ill sell them cheap. They are just sitting here. Plus shipping wont be much since your close.

have you checked the damage? ive seen it only be rocker arms

I did this once on a turbo se-r and only broke 1 rocker. Pull your vc and take a look. If theres only a few broken all you need to do is replace them. Make sure you find all the pieces and shims from the broken rockers. I would at the least do an oil change and maybe pull the lower pan off and clean it. I had one broken, replaced it, changed my oil, and my car was good as before.

lol guarantee you can just clean up the top of the head because you probably broke rockers and thats it, i did this once on my old ser sent it to about 11-12k rpms and shattered every single rocker arm but 1, if your car is still running your fine. i had jwt s3's in there also when it happend, nothing at all happened to the valves or pistons. i put a whole new set of rocker arms in and it fired right up, went to the track and still ran the same times at the same mph i was running before it happened.

pop the valve cover and take a look, i guarantee you its not pretty but if its still running you probably only threw a couple probably just on one cylinder. So yeah, if now i have a head with all the valves and rockers in my garage i can sell you, but start with the easy stuff, and if you need a whole new set of rockers which is probably what it is, i have some from a really low milage jdm motor that i can sell you for $30 shipped. A whole set new will run about 120.00 or so. being thats what i spend when that happened about 5 years ago.

he broke 2 rockers i belive and that was about it.. he sent me a 2 pics and one of them showed the valves springs but i could not tell what was wrong with it so he might need a new head but if its only the rockers then yeah he just needs some new rockers and call it a day... like i said man i might have some around once this guy tells me what the heck he is going to do with everything

sweet, its very rare to actually bend a valve or hit a valve on a piston from that, again mine i demolished and threw a set of rocker arms in and it was good to go like it never happened, but hey the cleanup of all the metal in the head was fun, haha not
