Fans never turn on
Just finished wiring up my water temp gauge here today. Was watching the gauge and my car gets to about 220* and the fans still don't kick on. Never paid attention to it before but now that I think about it, I don't know that they ever came on before either. Not a huge deal as the car is never sitting still for long periods of time and the movement did a wonderful job of keeping the car cool. Temps came right back down to where they should be after I started driving around.

Any ideas on what to do to get the fans working properly again?

take off your temp gauge plug and then turn your key all the way to the last setting before turn on... with your temp sensor disconected your ecu will think its over heating and will turn your fans on. if they dont come on check your fuse box on the driver side fender and see if thoes are good...

Wheres the temp gauge plug? Can't seem to find anything resembling the stock water temp sensor anywhere. If its under the intake manifold, I'll wait until I do my DET swap before fixing it. I could care less about this motor.

Jump the relay with a wire. See if they kick on at all.

its about 10 inches from the power steering pump,
on the back of the head of the motor, near the bottom of the intake runnerrs on the passenger side.

if you disconect it fans should kick on right away, if they dont you might have bad fans.

also if u turn on ur A/C the fans should come on, so turn the car on and then turn on the ac, at least 1 fan should go on. that will tell u weather or not at least ur ac fan is working. then swap the fans and see if the other one kicks on

on the up side if they are broken time to up grade, if u havent already

i have a set of G20 fans if ur interested, make an offer and they are yours

yeah unplug the sensor and they shoudl kick on , if they don't i would try and tap the fan motor with something and see if it starts to spin.
If they don't kick on i would try and swap relays to see if that could be the problem.

Check to see if you have power and ground at the fan wiring harness and work your way back.

If you can't figure it out, just wire a relay for them and have them switch on when the fuel pump does! Constant fans FTW! works great for me
