a manual tranny has about a 15% loss of power to the wheels where as an auto tranny has about 20% not a huge difference

my ga dyno'd 80whp (lol) and i have seen 5-speed ones actually do less than that

ran a calum tuned g20 ecu, tranny cooler and i did the removal of that sensor so it always shifts at full pressure. sucks for comfort but at 12psi its holding well no probs here. good luck.

hey skeeter could you elaborate on the sensor you removed? and what do u mean about always shifting at full pressure? how long have you been boosted on your auto tranny? and it is your daily driver?

actually it would be a huge difference if you were talking 500whp you are talking 100hp difference verses 75hp

if you have a car with 500bhp with 15% loss of power for the manual and 20% power loss for the auto tranny, then you can put 400whp on the auto tranny compared to 425whp on the manaul, then it's not a huge difference, unless someone is just tryin to feed his ego, or for bragging right, etc...

i donno, the thing is with manual transmissino you can get high pressure clutches, that can hold 200+% over stock pressures, lighter flywheels 8lbs or less, better shifters, you can shift manual transmissions faster than auto, rev higher (and faster with lighter flywheel) and then on top of that you are given a extra 25whp yea i think it would make a difference.

^^yeah i see ur point with all that, but i guess to each his own, my rev limit is pretty high, but all in all, the DET on an auto tranny is possible, how long it will hold is the problem...

i agree i feel even with stock manual transmission even have their drawbacks at high horsepower settings, breaking and all that
