92 into 93 VE swap questions
Maybe you guys can help.
I have a 92 NX with a VE already in it,but the car is a rust bucket.I have picked up a 93 NX to swap the motor over to.

I know that the 93 has electric speedo(not cable).I am wondering what will need to be done to overcome this.
-obviously,I need to install the electronic speedo gear in the tranny, and remove the cable.

My plans were to remove the VE with the harness attached and drop it in,but I am not sure how that will work on the 93.
I was also gonna swap my Calum basic ecu in,but I am wondering if I can use the 92 ecu,or do I need to send the 93 ecu off to be modded.

Another option could be to make the 93 a cable speedo....use the 92 harness, ecu and cluster.
Will that work?

Am I forgetting anything that may be an issue going from 92-93??

Thanks in advance
Jay

Why not just use the 93 harness? All you need to do is splice in the iacv wires, and maf sensor (if not using the stock one).

And you can use a 92 ecu on your 93.

^^^ my thoughts were to keep the 93 harness and ecu intact,if possible, because the car was from original owner and I would like the option of going back to stock someday possibly.
Since the existing car has the harness modified,it seems like the way to go.
There is no difference in the 92-93 ecu? what about the speedometer? it doesnt effect anything there?

eggman I dont get your explanation.

Anyway.

It does not matter if you use the 92 ECU with the 93 harness.

So just buy a used 93 harness for $125.

I guess I was hoping to unhook the ecu and pull the VE out of the 92 with the harness and tranny attached. Then just install it into the 93.Swap ecus, and plug it in.
The 92 runs and drives great, and just needs to be moved over to the 93 with no rust.I am just trying to save from redoing all the wiring...(like the mss,my guages, vvl solenoids, etc.)
