Yeah, Evo's are no more and Mitsubishi managed to make the worst Evo for the last model year. Due to new safety requirements they were not able to use the Recaro seats and they came with extremely shitty chepo Lancer seats.

I feel that I'm a bit more discerning than the average Joe in my taste for all things automotive, while my old man thought I was a complete idiot for driving the kids around in a 20+ year old "economy car" that would "fold up" if I got into an accident.

Different priorities to which it's all relative, but no doubt that there are far worse choices than a Nissan/Mitsubishi product.
