GA16 is a great little motor. 36mpg+ highway, hell yes. I would totally rock a B14 GA for a daily driver.

36mpg is on the low end. b13 5 speed.... highway cruising for long distances = 50+mpg

B14 GA is the worst bottom end for building anything. 2 piston rings per piston, WTF Nissan?!

Best GA modification - Turbo. Unfortunately you pretty much have to build your own "kit" these days, but leave motor stock, slap turbo on it with some injectors, MAF, and ecu and beat the shit out of it. If you blow the motor, a new one can be had for a few hundred bucks. Swap the kit over and repeat as needed. There are millions of GA's out there so these steps can be repeated almost indefinitely.

Unfortunately I never ever had it on the dyno. I'd say somewhere in the 200's ?

I had a ga16de too before my sr20

It run a chipped sr20 ecu with a tune for the 1.6 and sr20 throttle body (bigger and bolts right on) and sr20 maf. 3" intake pipe, header and full exhaust.

It ran a 15.6 in the quarter with half of those mods

i have a hotshot intake and header laying around that id be willing to sell (someone is interested in the header at the moment though..i had a 98 sentra with the 1.6 in it and my setup was as follows:

hotshot CAI
hotshot header
2" stainless catback (one off job)
exhaust contained magnaflow high flow cat/resonator/muffler

also had tein super street coilovers with wide/low offset xxr wheels to help out as well in the grip/cornering dept.

overall the car had a solid powerband that pulled smooth and strong (for what it was of course)

i think i may have a tuned 1.6 ecu laying around as well (obd2)
