Been riding it to work and back most of the week. Picked up a Speed and Strength SS1300 in the large size for 100 bucks off Craigslist.

Bike has been running well, I ordered a new battery and will be snagging a set of Avon Tires for it.

I have been saving a ton of money commuting, on average I am using approx 5 gallons of gas every week and a half. Got a new ignition and tank lock. About to pickup a jacket as riding in a Tshirt is pretty cold.

Definite:
New Tires (sticking with the Michelin if possible)
Bar end weights (one of the factory ones is missing.)

Possible
Rear seat and fairing (If I can find one)
Carb
Race 50cc piston
Exhaust

Bought a new to me fairing on Ebay the other day and unfortunately I waited too long to replace the rear tire, so it popped. I am bringing it to get tires shortly.

I have definitely enjoyed my ride to work, picked up a Helmet too just to be safe.

interesting, I must see if I can find one..you don't register it as a motorcycle? doesn't it get a license plate? its awesome you don't need all the extra things you mentioned above (insurance, license change, etc) what exactly does one need?

I looked for one of those bikes a long time ago. Pretty hard to find. I ended up getting a couple old Yamaha YSR50's and my brother had a Yamaha TZM50 imported. The old ysr's were too slow so I put a dt80cc engine it one of them. The TZM50 is a water cooled 2 cycle 6 speed so it is a bunch of fun. If your state allows a 49cc and under (scooter law) with no tags or insurance it's pretty cheap fun and can save gas money. There are packs of 49cc pit bikes that just cruise all night around here.

At least in CT anything under 50cc is considered a scooter, I called CT DMV and explained what the bike was and the woman said the same thing.
