So the wife takes it a step further yesterday. My parents were over and we were discussing the 2014 Hyundai Tuscon my mom just picked up on lease. My mom asked my wife if we were getting the car (Elantra Touring) I told her about and my wife begins to gripe about having a car payment and not wanting one. WTF??? I reminded her that we we've been very lucky with the Pro5, but at 132k shit will begin to break and I'M NOT FIXING IT. Not to mention all the rust sprouting and that we should trade it in before it ain't worth a dime.

She was also reminded that we haven't had ANY car payments for going on 10 years now and to get over it. Damn it all to hell.

I agree car payments are for suckers.
For whatever reason, I just assumed you would be paying for the replacement outright.

I have to say, your wife seems to be making a sane decision. Enjoy it while it lasts.

I like to decide for myself if I want full insurance coverage on a car or not.

Agreed, but only a fool would spend $10+k on a car a NOT take out full coverage on it.
