I can vouch for this since I have a 3.3L SC xterra ,and a VQ40 Frontier at the moment.
The Frontier does have a bit more power and better MPG for sure.
The SC model VG33ER does make a pretty nice difference from the regular VG33 engine though.And its pretty fun to drive.The 4.0 is stronger in the high revs,but they both have good low end..
