We just don't have the money right now. The only reason I bought the VF-39 is I kept missing out on TD-04s and I wanted to tune it anyway. Hoping to get away with just the turbo/tune for now. Believe me I want to do the whole STi conversion but for now I'm cutting it off its still gonna cost almost $600.

My idle got a little rougher after I removed the stupid little oil filters. But I'm glad I did the mesh was starting to cave in on them.

Here is a TSB and steps for the little oil filters in the oil feed lines. This is only for 04-05's.

I pulled the plastic filters yesterday, gonna pull off the turbo this afternoon and see what's up.

If you can, I would swap the up pipe as well. It can be done with the turbo in place, but it's much easier with it out.

Its already got the STi up-pipe and catback. That was the first $100 I spent on the car 3 years ago.

You should be good then. The rest of the parts suggested would be nice, but it will be a nice upgrade to what is on there now.

I'm ordering the tactrix cable today. Anyone know a promo code?

I'm starting to have stupid AC issues with mine. Blows very cold air when I first kick the AC on then after running for 20-30 minutes non stop it just stops blowing cold air, and compressor is off. Turn off the car, let it rest works fine until I run AC for 20-30 minutes.

Did you have to modify the hanagers to get the STI muffler to hang right?

Man I haven't even used mine yet. I can let you borrow if you just need a quick tune up.

I didn't. Only 2 out of the 3 hangers fit though, but mine has been that way for ~8 years. Some people use longer Kartboy hangers since the tip is close to the bumper. I don't remember any issues on mine, but i have the longer hangers because I have a trailer hitch and the muffler would not fit without them.

Ah good, I heard that they had to be modded to work, and after modding 2-3 other STI mufflers to fit in our cars I just want something that drops in! .

I also have a hitch, it's a 1" one though. Will keep that in mind when I go to replace it. What sized hitch do you have on yours? I'm tempted to get a 2" so that I can actually tow something.

1 1/4", I only use it for a bike rack. I think it's a Draw-Tite. The tip sits on the hitch, but doesn't rattle.

@Vadim STi catback fits nice. I used longer autozone hanger bushings and yes one of the hangers doesn't fit but honestly it only sits like 1/2" short or less so it doesn't burn your bumper or anything. Mine has been on 3 years and its great.

I installed the full catback because the boxer rumble puts kids to sleep and I'm convinced having that STi resonator under the child seat helps encourage them to fall asleep even more.

Also I had to slightly modify my u-haul 3500lb hitch to get the muffler centered but it was just some dremmeling nothing serious.
