Thanks not true. Just because its awd doesn't mean it uses the same gear as a GTiR.

The only thing that COULD be the same as a gtir is the ratio of the rear diff. GA, KA and SR awd all use different gear. I have fitted DET/VET to awd p10 with sr, and AWD N15 with GA/SR's as well as others.

Ok Let me clarify. You are right the drivetrain is not exactly the same. The Axxess uses a 50A transmission. The bell housing has a different part number for the GTi-R. If your gonna do a sr20det swap into an Axxess you can go ahead and bolt up a GTi-R/Bluebird transmission and have a solution. Check the transmission gear case part number they are the same. The front differential part number is the same between Axxess and Gti-r. The transfer case part numbers are the same. The rear viscous LSD part number is the same. Yes there is differences in the gears that are used. However if you wanted to take some of the best bits from a GTI-R or bluebird and put them into an Axxess you could. The Axxess/Prairie is also known as an M11. The rear diff case has a different part number between the two. My guess is that this is because of the differences in wheelbases. However I'm pretty sure you could use the rear differential components of the GTI-R and put them into an Axxess differential case.

If you click on the part numbers it will lead you to a list of vehicle applications. You click on some of the GTI-R parts you can see they are also used on the M11. A lot of stuff is shared in the two cars.

I dunno if I'd put my family in one of those... I don't see them being too crash worthy. I'd at least go for an older Nissan Quest or something as they seem a little more substantial.

went and looked at it today.....runs and drives great! no weird noises or rattles.....good and solid!

the owner realizes the rarity of what she has and wants it to go to a good home....showed her my Nissan tattoo and done deal! LOL
she will be holding it for me till my tax refund comes in...and i believe it cause she took the craigslist add down a few days ago.

Any rust on this bad boy? I've seen a few of these that were devoured by rust.

looks great so far....my region uses sand not salt on the roads so ALOT less rust than most places

Well your probably fine then. I used to live out west and they used sand as well. Unfortunately, out my way (east), they think that road salt adds flavour to the roads so they use lots of it. =(

This should end up being a functional little van!
