Nice time, car made 409whp I believe but this companies turbo kit is retarded expensive. Something like 15k or so for the whole kit and tuning.

Yes, it is 15K, but that is the whole car package pretty much. Also, that includes install. Clutch, injectors etc. Not a bad deal, because for around 40k you can have a 500hp FRS that's ready for the track pretty much.

Still, I prefer the low-mount turbo setup. I think I'm going that route. It is going to cost around $6k all said and done with clutch and injectors. But it will likely be a year or so to do it.

I really like the Vortech kit but I don't think it is going to make enough power up here. 250whp at sea level is dog slow at 4500ft. Likewise, 165whp feels pretty slow. Luckily the short gearing makes it really fun. And at the 250whp level, the clutch and injectors won't need an upgrade.

I <3 the BRZ. Such an absolute joy to drive. I have 2700 miles on her. The front tires have 1700 miles on them. You figure that one out

I installed hood struts.

I have all the materials to paint my tails red too.

I have plans next month to put in some 0w30 oil for the first change. And next month I'll be going back to Miller Motorsports Park to do some wintercross racing pending the rain!

The 2014 Forester is going to have a boosted version of the same motor. I wonder how many parts will be interchangeable .

The only problem is where they place the turbo. The forester mounts it below the engine. The BRZ doesn't have the room. The engine sits around 4-5" above the ground, and has a skid plate to protect it. You can move the turbo a bit higher with a custom kit like the AVO turboworld kit.

I'm still pretty much sold on the Vortech supercharger. After talking with them, they say a simple compressor upgrade can fit their kit and make up to 350whp.

Yup I use Rotella T6 in my turbo Forester, turbo Miata, and the G35. $21/gallon at Walmart, can't beat it.

FRS is here!
Actually, depending on where you live, you can find Rotella T6 cheaper by looking for a place that caters to farms or semis. It is supposed to be a diesel oil, after all. I get 3 gallon packs for under $60.

Of course, my truck takes 12 quarts (2.5 gallons) for a change.
