turbo makes everything better! what size injectors do you need on this motor for the e85 tune? what size are the oem ones?

Stock port injectors are a measly 200cc. The DI are ~400, but they are treated like 200cc as well, mostly because of their timing.

The port injectors should be upgraded to around a 550-650cc for E85 up to 400whp.

Coheed, this thread has not helped me one bit in my personal decision to get this damn car. You pain me when I picture in my head how excited you are behind the wheel of your BRZ... Forever alone :/

So guys. I have suspension goodies lined up. Probably going with TEIN coilovers. And then I will be looking at FI. Before I put an exhaust on, I want to see what FI options I want to look at.

Right now, vortech has a CARB pending kit. It makes 240whp right now at around 6500rpm and 6psi. At 7200rpm there is 7psi available, and around 250whp, but tuning has not been completed yet. Revving out to 9k with supporting mods and higher boost levels, this charger should make up to 400whp under 14psi. Just a guess, but a higher rev limit and a supercharger sounds awesome.

The other kit I'm looking at mounts the turbo low, utilizing the factory manifold and cats. It requires a scavenge pump as well. But it does stay relatively simple. The kit comes with a GT2860rs, but I would want to upgrade to a GTX2863r. Still, on 3psi the kit makes 214whp, and on 8psi makes just shy of 300whp.

Both kits have their merits. Both have the ability to be very low key. But I still wonder about emissions legality. The turbo kit makes more power, more easily, and probably cheaper too. But it isn't 50 state legal, so if I ever move to Cali the kit would have to go.

The Vortech also is self contained, and doesn't require oil or coolant lines. I feel this kit will likely be more reliable, as there is less to go wrong.

Theres no way this car will stay NA only.
As soon as sales slip, the boosted one will be out.
Mark my words.Anything else would be a marketing fail.
