Why would they have problems with the direct injection? The mazdaspeed 3 has direct injection and nobody is having issues with that. They all work the same way. I believe on the MS3 they make aftermarket injectors but you dont need them till you get to something like 450+whp if im not mistaken. Due to the fact that the injectors are such high pressure the flow capability of the injectors is very good.

Seems like that shop may not know what they are doing when it comes to DI tuning. I would almost bet that the factory injectors would probably have supported 324whp.

The way that power comes on, it's going to be impossible to modulate mid-turn. If you're going to bastardize it, I'd rather see it supercharged.

Does the 240SX have the same problem? It seems like they would be comparable.

ONe of the best posts I have seen about the aftermarket for these cars

Dynasty seems to be "off" their game. Its basically a bandaid/patch way of getting things to work as anyone could add a set of injectors and use a standalone to achieve results.

The key players are the one that can crack the stock ECU setup and not change much mechanically in order to achieve results (think open source ECU tuning/reflash for EVO/STI using the stock ecu and how well it worked for them. The only difference is the DI system)

As far as I know, if DI is figured out, it is leaps and bounds better than the port injection system for both fuel mileage AND performance as well as driveability!!

Exactly. Yes the ill-conceived modding is already beginning. I applaud these guys for making the attempt but you really ought to think these things through a bit more.

I want a BRZ so bad, and I even penciled it out and I can afford one next year or maybe take one off-lease, early the next year but I worry about the felonious hoonage that is happening. Plus we want to have a second kid it might be too tight in the back... but looking at this car I also can't see myself being happy with a Genesis coupe any longer knowing this\/ is out there.

Local professional scca guy got one. Traded in his 1yr old golf gti. Said it handled like a dream, but was slow. So far he upgraded the intake and exhaust, and rims and tires. But loved the handling of it.

I need a slow car. My wife doesn't like me driving the sentra. It goes through rubber and gas like its got a vendetta against the dinosaurs.

Or it could just be that the VVL is so damn addicting! mmmmmmmbaaaaaaaaah wooooooo!

I think I'm gonna get one though. It's like inception with the wife. I've planted the seed for the idea of buying one :P
