4 wheel drift on RWD screams understeer to me. Over/under-steer is determined based on steady state turn... if the front is sliding the car had to understeer and then have over correction for drifto action.

I also don't read/believe anybody anymore. I've seen behind the curtain.

I'm also going to try and stay out of this thread... There is alot of drama going on behind the scenes regarding this car that pisses me off.

Cars don't have drama...only the monkeys that drive them do.

"...needs some encouragement....I gotta be a little careful with that quick turn-in that is doesn't turn into a big oversteer" -Randy Pobst

He is inducing oversteer but I really think they (Toyota and Subaru) just made a finer step towards a more neutral chassis (yet still understeering to keep us dummies alive) but in a lazy fashion (in regards to WRX pieces for suspension).

The Motor Trend guy is a tool though.

To me, a balanced chassis can do both understeer and oversteer. I think it's really about having the driver being able to control that balance with the least amount of inputs that makes the difference. A car is "right" when it's effortless to drive at speed. Unless all of the reviews out there are BS, I think these cars are closer to what I'm talking about then most cars out there. Like I said, I haven't drove one yet, so I don't know for sure. Seems crazy that critics would love it but the cars actually suck.

Not all critics race car drivers, that is a problem.

There job does not mean that is their passion, that is a problem.

People are not objective when doing a review of a car for whatever reason. That is a inherit problem in which @wnwright and I both seem to share a view on. You cannot really trust what anybody says.

I think it also is audience... I 100% think it is a great car in stock form compared to other cars in stock form. I also think most people wouldn't know what a neutral car is even if they drove it. Most people consider a car with some amount understeer tendency to be neutral. You can always get a car to rotate with input... Ask @Meeners about tapping the brakes.

Preciously what I thought when I was stupid and thought a B14 was a decent handling car. It is a pig in a slop trough from factory.

If they crack the ecu and you can tune it with ROM raider or something like it then I can see it running wild. Anyone know how close they are to that yet?

It's done. Gains of around 15whp iirc. Also bumped the rev limit to 8k without issues, gains a bit of power up top. The factory tune closes the E-throttle in prep of redline, so after 7k it tanks. They tune that out. Now they got people making more power than factory and getting mid 30's gas mileage, and as high as 40s. It's pretty cool.

I like the car, but it is slow from the factory. Even at 200whp its quite the downgrade from the super sentra's 350whp daily. 165whp is back in stock VE territory. But at least its rear drive eh?

They have rev-match downshifts coming up soon too, so it will rev-match like the 370z.

The turbo kit out right now from AP is making 280whp on 10psi with a disco potato and pump gas, and they know there is more in it because they haven't hit knock yet. They just don't wanna push the car too far, because it isn't theirs lol.

but 280whp is right in the fun zone. The setup is really simple too, so not a lot to go wrong, only thing is the oil scavenge pump. The turbo sits really really low.
