Thread: Ignition lock cylinder!

Hello guys hope everyone is alright. I have a 5 speed 93 se-r that I recently purchased and I think my ignition lock cylinder is bad. I don't know if the steering wheel is supposed to lock when the key is out (I think it should) and I can use a screwdriver to turn the car on if I have to. Now I also have a 93 se-r auto that is rusted pretty bad as a parts car. I was looking up a kit for the lock cylinder and it has two options: auto or manual trans. So my question is would I be able to swap the two out or would I have to buy a whole new set?

mine is a manual se-r and i used one from a auto xe. its the same just unscrew the little box attached that i believe its to lock it out if its not it park.

ohh ok, I guess you drilled the bolts put to remove the lock right?

yup i drilled into them then reversed them out pretty easily on mine. luckily the xe i got mine off of the tops didn't break away so it was easy to get off.
