Yeah they need to get rid of the rear beam. A Versa Se-R won't be all that great. It also has the beam rear end.

Others are focusing on the performance market. I think Nissan just wants to cater to the bread and butter. The Altima is the bread and butter, so everything else in the sedan lineup will be derivative.

They have also taken the balls from the Altima. No more manual trans option.

Lets face it fellas. Nissan is done catering to people like us. We'll have to shop other brands for what we want. Honestly I don't mind. Nissan isn't the same company it was Pre-99. Shoot I read a C&D article and the 370Z can't handle more then one hot lap around a track before it goes into limp mode because of oil temps. I mean seriously if Nissans sports car can't survive around a race track there is something very wrong with the people that make the design choices.

I currently am driving a Mazda 3. Its not bad. Independent rear end, manual 2.0 with decent pep, sub 3000lb weight.

Toyota/Subaru are going to bank on the new coupe. I've seen the commercial its pretty damn cool.

Honda has also lost its way. Good thing for them that they are still using independent rear ends.

Subaru/Mazda/Kia/Hyundai/Ford/Chevy/Mitsu/Toyota are the only ones making cars for guys like us. I don't count mitsu because the EVO is expensive and overweight.

Sad day indeed. I was really liking the new Altima too. Paddle shifters are great... for exotics and F1 cars. For "relatively" slow cars though, human shifting is all you'll ever need and there is more involvement, which can make a slow car fun.

As much as it pains me, I'll hold my breath a little while longer until the new Sentra SE-R is out. It's been 20 yrs, which is the same gap between the 510 and the B13. Hoping this history repeats itself. If they fail again, my stubborn self will finally get the picture.

I wonder if the SE-R will come back out. Although these days maybe the Versa is the closest thing to that old SE-R goodness. I will be rocking my classic proudly. The B13 SE-R is the best Sentra Nissan ever made.

Now that is sweet!
I am sure we will never see these in the US.

If Nissan were to design and build a 4-door car that looked like that and had a 2.0 turbo in it (even the juke turbo would be okay with some work) and then released it to the North American market....I would buy one right away!

Unfortunately, this is a pipe dream!!

Sweet looking ride, though!!
