Thread: Scion TC help...

So my girls '08 TC is loud as fukin hell. The wheel bearings will instantly make you throw up after a night of clubbing.

I did some quick searching on eBay for shits and giggles and found these:

Has anyone worked on a TC before? I gotta attack the brake job soon so figured I would do the wheel bearings while I am at it. The above link seems like they would be a bolt-on replacement, no?

that looks bolt in to me. Kinda shitty that in 4 years they went that bad tho. At least the bolts shouldn't be too hard to get out if the car is only 4 years old. Break out the pb blaster and hope you don't need a torch.

Yeah, I mean the car has like close to 50,000miles on it. It seems pretty much brand new except for the bearings making noise. If those were a bolt on affair like out complete hub assembly I would just knock them out while I did the brakes. Arghhh

theres a tsb out for late model scion and toyota where the caliper busings fail and make the caliper rattle and sound like a control arm bushing/wheel bearing going out. try a full on brake job including hardware first.

Np I drive a matrix as a dd and my friend who's a mech. Told me what to look out for when I was having a growling. Luckly mine was just lack of lubrication on the slide pins so I didn't have to buy anything extra.

it must be a toyota thing cause I had to replace them when I had my matrix. Also everyone else I know in my family with a corolla has had to them replace.

Driving with snow caked in the wheels will wear them out even faster.

Knowing my girl she will drive with anything caked up on the inside of the wheels. Trying to convince her to get these TE37's in pink since the wheels will be off anyway when I do the brakes, lol. Bought everything new so gotta tackle it tomorrow =/
