Thread: honda dealership rip off?

so my girl friend grandma went to go get the airbag recall done on her 02 civic and they did this little inspection thing and told her it was time for a timing belt.....she's 88 and didn't know better so she had them do it.....$800!!
i start looking over the paperworkand notice she doesn't even had 46k on her car yet....a little research latter and i find honda says 110k for timing belts.

i really just want to know if this info is correct....she says the car has more "pep" to it but i just wanna make sure these guys didn't rip her off

is this the same grandma that dont let you park like a real boy in the drive way? an that would throw a hissy fit if you guys got another car? and wont let you use the garage? and doesn't like when u guys use the spare refrigerator?

if so who fuckin cares. lol

Timing belts weather check and crack just like your drive belts. Even though it only has 46K it could weather check/crack and break. So they couldn't have been to out of line.

i can park in the driveway all i want....just don't like moving every time her or john leave or get here

she told me i can park in the garage as long as her boyfriend john isn't here....he's here alot so i don't bother

and yes it does bug me that my car got broken into in the driveway but thats still not enough reason to just let me use the garage....john drives a like 85 camry! no one wants to steal that POS or even fuck with it!

we're broke as fuck and adding another car when we can barly afford the one we have had nothing to do with grandma

and the fridge was a pos and added like $75 to the power bill a month.....if we can find one that doesn't suck we can still put one down here and ditch the mini fridge

yeah, they normally do like to screw people

iirs it's either 100k or 8 years due to cracking and weather wear. We see that alot , some cars hardly get driven but still require a timing belt replacement because of time .
