Good to know I WAS thinking about finding one of the older turbo ones, so much for that idea...

Yeah the only snap ring you have to remove is the one closest to the wheel, the one that sits in the notch in the carrier, its just hard to get pliers in there. All the ones ive done slid right out after removing it and ive done many of them.

Thanks for the tip on the gasket, hopefully that will help narrow it down.

It must be nice to live in a state were stuff just slides out like it's supposed to

The only reason I took the second small clip out is the cut CV shaft was shooting metal chips all over the place when I beat on it with a hammer, britttle stuff.

Has anyone had the joy of working on the old 80s mid-ish engine toyota vans? I have heard those are beyond bad.

Toyota Previas are a nightmare. Absolute worse vehicle toyota has ever made. We would see one roll in and just pray its for an oil change. lol

As mentioned, V6 minivans are awful.

I think the Volvo 240s were pretty easy. Wide-open like an old American car but with metric fasteners.

^ i can bang out a timing belt job on a old 240 volvo in about a half hour !

My hate list I'll start with my top most hated ...

-all audis a3/a4/a6 take the whole nose off to do a timing belt . Pays 7-8 hours labor . everthing is torx and allen bolts wtf !

-all 3/5 serries bmw's early 90's to present . Too much cheap brittle plastic parts for the money you spend for one . Again allen bolts and torx bolts stripp . Tight areas to work on .

-sentra 2000+ crappy 1.8 . I change a thirmistats and hoses and spend two hours trying to bleed the air out of the motor lol. I have a tool you put on the radiator to create a vacume but you still have to raise the front of the car 3 ft in the air to work the air out . hate those motors

-Range rover great ol air suspension leveling system . PITA !

- PT loser i mean PT cruiser try fixing anything on the pos.

- 2001up honda civic "wing nuts " belt tensioner adjustments ! Wtf they rust and break

- ford f150-250 5.4 v8 blowing spark plugs out on #7+8 cyl . Have to heilicoil that with no room on the back of the head.

-YEP I'm 100% with you guys on this ...mid 90's toyota previa van ! Yea motor is laying on its side under the middle of the car . Try tuning up that pos or replacing the motor for that matter ...I have.

-Dodge sprinter vans with the mercedes 3.0 tdi motors . Ive done countless glow plugs and egr tubes . We have a fleet account at my shop with coke cola and sevice all thier small vans and truck over 300+ .
