Thread: Buddy of mine going for 9's N/A B18C VTEC

A not-so-local friend of mine (He lives in El Paso) has been working hard on his tube chassis CRX, completely built by himself with no outside help. He's about wrapped up with the suspension upgrades and hopes to send her into the 9's this year, N/A.



He's literally done 100% of the work himself, and it's a MONSTER.

Just thought I'd share. He's laughing about the build because everyone has moved onto the K motor, but he hasn't given up on his B series just yet. Once he hits 9's, he'll pull the motor and move up into the K world.

I'll forward the well wishes He's been on haitus since the 2009 season started. Had a few personal issues and didn't have the funds to do much. He since then went to my good friend Mike's shop and business has just taken off for him. He's a DAMN good machinist. He's just recently finished a custom coilover kit for a 280z with a simple SR swap. The coilover kit was AMAZING.

Dude looks like he knows his shit. Thats pretty wild. I heard of a lot of guys ditching crx's. I think it was because of the wheelbase or some shit that makes it sketchy at high speeds. Badass though. Best of luck to him. I think the B series record was like 10.2 or so.

Post up if he is willing to share specs on the motor build. I'm going to guess its an insanely high CR 2.2 or 2.3 block.

He's going for the world record. B series is in fact 10.2X 1/4. Ill ask for specs again but I recall him saying stock bore/stroke.
