Issues on a 2000 Legacy
So my girlfriend just bought the car which seems like it was taken care of decently. However, like many subarus, it needs to have the headgaskets replaced. I've been told that I need to drop the engine to do them but so far, it looks like I have the clearance to pull the heads off which is good. This is my first run on a boxer engine and I must say it's nice to work on compared to our cars. Everything is right there, especially the pulleys and belts.
Anyways, that issue seems to be going well but it also has a few codes. I've done tons of research online and it seems like I can't pull up much detailed info on the Phase 2 EJ25 engine as far as codes go. One is an Intake Air Temperature sensor and circuit. Now, as far as I can tell, it doesn't have a designated IAT. The Haynes says it is on the airbox but only on the manual transmissions..... and it's an automatic. Is it part of the MAF/MAP? What is involved with this if the wiring is fine?
Thanks
Dave
