Thread: advice on a spec v

a friend of mine has an 04 spec v ..6 speed forsale but the motor is basically done, really bad oil consumption ac doesnt work either. The body is in great shape so is the interior i am thinkink about buying it from him.
1 what do those qr25 motors go for
2 where can i find one
3 what are the years that nissan fixed the oil consumption problem on them.

QR25DE engines unless that boosted are crap

If the price is right and you got some skills buy it and get a VQ35DE, about 250whp and better MPG than QR25DE

What would be a good price for the car with a blown motor

Those motors are expensive, I cant find them for less than $1200 I think. Just SR swap it.

I second the vq swap. The sr swap is actually more work it seems than the vq. If you were to swap in an sr, you would have to spend some cash to boost it. The spec-v is a heavy car, you need torque to get that thing going.
