Quote of the year here.

"And anyone who says the car should have a turbo is missing the point."

There is no point missed

The car will be slow with all the bolt ons you could do to it. It will be fun times when its time for cam installs. 4 cams will cost over $1000 for a set and another $1500 to pull the motor out and put them in.

200 WHP will take more than exhaust, headers and intake.

TRD gets it thats why the Toyota version will have an upgraded model with supercharger.

I wonder if they will stick to the traditional twin screw SC or go with a centrifugal one.

But we ARE talking "out of the box" fun. TRD isn't considered "out of the box".

If you don't think a 200hp 2700lb car will be fun, stop driving your SE-R.

I look at it like this: 220whp on a DET sentra is plenty fun, but after being in a 200whp VE, I'd rather have the VE for fun.

Ahhhhhhh thats where your numbers dont add up.

200 hp RWD = 165 WHP = 14.5 @ best

210 hp FWD = 180 WHP = 14.0

215 WHP FWD = 240 Hp my SER

Dont mix up your CHP and WHP

TRD is considering out of the box fun.

Toyota sells cars and trucks already with optional supercharged kits from TRD that are full factory warrantied, installed at the dealer with proper ECU.

This is the same plan for the Toyota version.

I would not want one.

If Subaru does a STI version with 275-300 HP, I will be first inline to buy one. I will also bet that if TRD offers their supercharged kit as a TRD option at the dealer which they will then Subaru will do the sme with a Turbo.

Watch and see.

nice car !.

Yep. Like the whole thing better than the Toyota.

There will definitely be faster models, more factory-stock performance, on the way with both manufacturers. Give it a year or so.

Not to mention aftermarket folks cracking codes, and it sounds like the manufacturers will make it especially easy to crack. And aftermarket companies, tuners and parts galore.

I'd imagine these cars are the hot topic of discussion on a whole bunch of enthusiast web-sites.
