no some hks cams, header, intake, upgrade the ic, smaller pulley for more psi, some nice rims and suspension.

they are very hard to find in good shape.

matter of fact all of the late 80's early 90's econo box's are getting increasingly harder to find . im looking for a daily, and as much as i want a older cultish car i cant seem to find one. it appears im going to end up with some lame boring ride.

ok back on topic.

stratton.

And no way does it have a lower polar moment of inertia than an Elise, or MR2-S, etc. No freaking way?

FWIW Lotus Elise CG is 18.375" above ground (waist line of driver) and centered F/R where the driver sits.

For me this sums up the appeal. I have no problem comparing this car to the MRS, I think it would blow the doors off it. And look better, and have more room. And not have the pre-cat issues. I think they spent the money in the right place: The chassis. And they made the ECU easy to tune so if you decide it needs more power, it should be easy to do. My B13 would get its ass handed to it in many straight-line races (DE with bolt-ons), but when someone on a straight road guns it trying to get me to race, I just shake my head. That's not how I built this car and I don't care about straight-line speed. I have my fun in the twisties and my B13 works great there. Just like the FR-S will, but better than my B13.

Yet they carried over strut based suspension...

Yah I have no doubt on the center of gravity claim, but the polar moment claim sounds way suspicious. Maybe because the S2k is no longer in production they can make the claim? I don't even see how they beat out a new Mini in that department, let alone the Lotus.

If they hadn't used some carry over pieces (modified from the STi, I believe), it probably would have been north of 30k. Given that this car, with inflation, is roughly the same cost as the B13 was (as previously posted), some sacrifices would have to be made.

I agree it does... Just was giving you some facts. I doubt the claimed CG height also, because when I checked other sources nobody had numbers and those that had them doubted them.

Same goes with stock tires being shared with Prius.

Front and rear share parts with 2 different gens of old Imprezas IIRC. I could go next door and ask, but the point is that they cut costs on suspension design. Right or wrong.
