This car is clearly designed as a handler. Not a 1/4 mile terror. I think the idea is that a lot of higher powered (and more expensive) vehicles would have a bitch of time trying to catch the BRZ/FRS down a twisty mountain road, or around a road-course.

I have always loved my B13 for it's overall well-rounded driving experience. Not how fast or slow it was in a 1/4 mile.

Stratton can blow it off for the 2.0 liter, Dre can wait for the turbo.

Shawnb, think of the JDM, S13, S14 and S15. It is the SR20DET versions that made it a true icon. Why because of its aftermarket potential. The US KA24DE and JDM SR20DE were great handling cars but thats not were the intrest were. A car like this with a small turbo with 250-350 WHP potential will be a killer for all comers. Now if the heads had some VVL VTEC type potential then my thoughts would be diffrent

Dre - It is more fun to drive a slow car fast than it is to drive a fast car slow.

I don't think this car will be slow, but I think this car will be more "useable" for spirited driving than a car with so much power that you quickly find yourself at scary speeds and have to shut off the fun.

This will be a slow car. High 14 sec all day.

I would buy the Scion only because I work at Toyota.

Knowing the popularity these two cars are recieving I would daily the car with mild upgrades keeping the warranty, and purchasing a turbo for the car which I am sure will be readily available anytime.

AutoX out of factory anyone?

I am with you part-way Dre. I'd wait around for the turbo Subaru version. Which I think will be coming, it's a total natural. I bet Subaru cannot keep the STi guys away from the BRZ.

On the other hand, the Miata has done really well being a light, fun, tossable, handling machine with merely decent power.

Your definition of slow, Mr. Turbo-Madness, and my definition of slow are markedly different.

Lol that is true. Regardless, by any stretch its not gonna be a quick car out the box, wich is understandable.

The sti version should make things interesting.

I just know that no matter how badass this car is... its only a cunt hair bigger then a miata, and I look like A CLOWN getting out of a miata. This car wont be for fatties lol. Im lucky the b13 has fairly large doors.

it's the same length as a 370z pretty much.

I'm smelling usdm 240sx like comments being written about this car after it releases. Not as much power as the competition, slower then the competition, etc. . . Hope I'm wrong
