Here's the evolution of that post.

Of course it's hideous. It's a new Mazda.

Of course it's hideous. It's a contemporary Mazda.

No ninja here.

Miko, you'd upset the Nissan performance pecking order with cars like those. We can't have that.

I know I am dreaming.

The Altima 175 hp QR with CVT gear box at 3,300 pounds gets 33 MPG.

If Renault made 2 models

1. with 150 Hp QR20DE with CVT in a 2500 pound Renault and we are getting 40 MPG ( Old School Sentra 1.6 )

2. with 200 Hp and 180 Lb Ft Torque the QR25DE with 6 speed trans at 2500 pounds we would get a 33 MPG car running 14.3 @ 98 MPH ( 2010 Spec V @ 3,200 pounds runs 0-60 @ 6.7 sec and 14.9 @ 93 MPH )

We would have a high performance winner with a nice little gas sipper

If Renault made the QR25DE with VVL tech the shit would hit the fan. Can we say QR25VEs @ 230 HP and 190 LB Ft Torque.

I hope this trend will continue and other manufacturers will import their lightweight B segment cars as well. Bring back the hot hatches!

Car and Driver has the Mazda 2 at 2,286 lbs.

The Fit beats it though in their comparison (for obvious reasons).
