Changed the thread name to encompass the additional topics

But really I don't understand the big commotion. Looking at how this started, it does seem like Steve simply had a chip on his shoulder and needed to get it out on someone.

From what I'm getting, there is a rather high dislike towards Ben from some individuals. I am also trying to put my finger to it, maybe I've missed some keystone posts that made that general mindset of him. To me it seems like a lot of people dislike the fact that has big long replies that are fairly proper, which makes him seem "smarter" or better yet "better" then the others. Another thing might be that he has a response to just about any post that's pointed towards him, thus making him seem like a smart ass.

I personally have had no problems with him, and we disagree on most things, except for cars. Yet I don't think I've seen any posts that would make him seem as a smart ass, or better then anyone else.

I respect both of you but this is pointless. Eeveryone has differing views on what constitutes a good car and youll never talk someone into whole heartedly agreeing with your views.

Agreed, I don't like those "penis" rims

I also dont like B14 wheels on B13's or other trends that encompass about 50 percent of people on this forum. One thing i HATE about this community is the lack of originality of the rides and how most frown upon anything new or different. people here are very close minded I hate to say.

Ben you do seem a bit arrogant at times but it also can be said that some things you say go over alot of peoples heads. An example is your sense of humor... I find it hilarious but alot of people dont get it. Its just how you are and it seems inadvertant. Dont change for people here.

Andreas, I realize it's probably not good form for a mod to put anyone on ignore no matter how much they might want to. So looks like you're stuck with me. =/

You hit the nail right on the head. We do lack originality. The problem is when the few members do try to go out of the box we get the crap flamed out of us.

I have rather high MPG goals for the power output, and am planning on improving aerodynamics of the car. Some members didn't agree and started basically flaming. Granted we are cool now, but the fact reminded me how narrow minded our community is.

Ben, you're far too well written and you put too much time and effort into your posts. Therefore, you are a pompous douchebag. I see no error with my logic.

exactly. So far he has confronted every accusation head on and from researching his previous posts i havent seen a single instance where he has come forth and proclaimed himself a Nissan or SR20 guru.

The problem lies in that he often proves people wrong and people hate that. He also doesnt back down unless you can prove without a shadow of a doubt he was incorrect. All I see is false accusations and bullshit. He can be arrogant if he wants, I think thats alot better than being a whiny little bitch.

Also, you spend far too much time making certain that your intentions are clear by stating things multiple times with a variety of word choice. I hate that. Can't you just be mildly vague and then become upset when people have a tough time understanding you?

You will go out of your way to discuss things in an in-depth manner when the need arises which makes it very difficult to refute your words.

You write large posts; I dislike reading and therefore you think you are somehow better than I am. Get off your high horse.

My biggest issue with you is that you seem to have some sort of greater life aspiration for yourself, could you please just become accustomed to mediocrity and stop trying so damn much?

i love the 350z. just enough power for my liking, the brakes are great, and i love the views, and the smoothness of the trans. after driving the car for about 10 minutes, i got really comfortable and started pushing it with ease. nissan did well with this car. and i wondered for a LONG time until i drove one why i saw soooo many of them in miami when they first came out. if it had the room that i needed before my move i would have bought one. i might have to wait another year now though in order to.

its a semi-race car, but you can drive it on the street. some basic upgrades and your w2w ready. its comfy enough to daily, but rugged enough to have fun on a track day or spirited drives.

Meh. I don't see what all the fuss is about. I'm not about to choose sides here, but I SERIOUSLY think that everyone needs to just chill out for a few minutes. You guys are turning this into a pissing contest and the majority of the people here are taking jabs at Ben. Everyone know's he's a "character", but I'd rather live life with characters, than with boring half-wits.

If you don't agree with his posts, then simply ignore him. I do so on many occasions. That still doesn't make him a bad person, it just makes him highly opinionated.

Now, on the subject of the G/Z car that everyone's talking about: How can you say that Nissan built a good car? Last I checked, there are roughly as many Renault parts on a G/Z chassis, as there are Nissan parts. The only NISSAN BUILT car I can say was built well, is the GT-R. Yep, the ONLY CAR LEFT UNTOUCHED BY RENAULT. Chew on that.

Aside from that, I do like the G/Z chassis, however I don't like it with the VQ. The VQ is boring, to me. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT with an LS powertrain. The chassis is rigid and performs surprisingly well for me, and the power delivery with an LS powertrain makes it all the bit sweeter. No VQ motor can do that for me. It's underpowered/rated for the chassis. It should perform much better. Now take the VQ and throw it into a 95/96 Maxima chassis, and you've got a fun car. That's how the Maxima should have been.

^^ A buddy of mine did just that, took the VQ and put it into the 99 Maxima. It was fairly impressive to me (before I had boost), but wasn't enough for him so he is boosting it.
