Another thing might be that he has a response to just about any post that's pointed towards him, thus making him seem like a smart ass.

I personally have had no problems with him, and we disagree on most things, except for cars. Yet I don't think I've seen any posts that would make him seem as a smart ass, or better then anyone else.

Ben and I have gotten waaaaay sideways over at least one thing. Our sense of humor. Or rather, the fact that my sense of humor has at least one very large dead-zone.

Additionally, I have been accused of the exact same "posting attributes." An accusation that is technically correct, yet entirely misguided.

FFF (Fucking Forum Fаggots)

The same goes for the FFF (Fucking Forum Fаggots). It doesn't describe you at all if you read past the little part I quoted. Don't take that the wrong way. I don't think you are a FFF. I'm just pointing out your selective quoting.

Right smack dab in the middle of my humor dead-zone.

I may join MotoIQ just to respond. ......delete...... He makes another homophobic remark later in his childish rant. I suspect that such folks are secretly closeted or insecure about their personal sexual orientation.

I always (always) wonder if such disrespectful......(Eric Hsu) would speak that way in a public setting (?). They would do so in my presence exactly one (1) time.

EDIT: For The Record. Eric and I had a discussion over his posted Rant. He made an extremely poor word choice, which is in fact metaphorical hate speech. However, Eric is not actually bigoted, that Rant was using metaphorical hate speech in jest and in jest only.

Not only that, but both are encouraged by general consensus. I'm part of forums where negative opinions of cars are not encouraged. I know what that's like. This is not one of those forums. On top of that, those who do choose to voice their negative opinions are encouraged to do so by many members here. I encourage people to do it to my car. If you hate it, let me know. I'm not alone in this thinking here on the forum. I believe you might even be in the minority here in thinking that only good things should be said.

It's not some hate fest. It's a bunch of friends hanging out at the local watering hole.

Agreed.

Dont change for people here
.

Agreed.

Sometimes, I do not "get" Ben's humor. Which does not mean that I do not like Ben, or that we do not get along.

I surely don't want him to change his writing, thoughts, presentation, or diatribe in the interests of "pleasing others."

I cannot argue with that Spock-like and unimpeachable logic, therefore I would be Pompous Douchebag #2 checking in.

Don't forget that with his "time and effort" Ben also quotes the sh*t out of folks. Quote, quote, quote, all the damn time. From what I understand per my detractors, Ben should "get a life".

Not to mention that superblackz falls into that same posting category.

The problem lies in that he often proves people wrong and people hate that. He also doesnt back down unless you can prove without a shadow of a doubt he was incorrect. All I see is false accusations and bullshit. He can be arrogant if he wants, I think thats alot better than being a whiny little bitch.

Yup.

You will go out of your way to discuss things in an in-depth manner when the need arises which makes it very difficult to refute your words.

You write large posts; I dislike reading and therefore you think you are somehow better than I am. Get off your high horse.

My biggest issue with you is that you seem to have some sort of greater life aspiration for yourself, could you please just become accustomed to mediocrity and stop trying so damn much?

Yer killin' me.

Everyone know's he's a "character", but I'd rather live life with characters, than with boring half-wits.

If you don't agree with his posts, then simply ignore him. I do so on many occasions. That still doesn't make him a bad person, it just makes him highly opinionated.

Cliff on point. This little on-line, dysfunctional, and familial community is full of characters.

I can only imagine how boring this forum would be if everyone checked all their opinions, only spoke favorably about vehicles posted, and all composed their posts in the same "forum approved" truncated manner.

Nor am I choosing sides. I get along with both BenFenner and superblackz, and fully appreciate each of their contributions to our forum.

Haters gonna hate. I for one have no issues with Ben or his forum behavior, and would not ask him or anyone else on here to change, even if I wanted to. Sure everyone has their quirks, but I don't think we should be jumping all over anyone OR asking to be jumped on. It's not possible for everyone to be perfect in everyone's eyes and trying to accomplish that wouldnt help anything IMO. I'm just glad I never had a class with him in school because THAT would have been annoying.

With regards to 350Z's, I don't like them. For me, they do absolutely nothing from an aesthetic standpoint, which is Step #1 in my book. That's not to say that the primary function of the car is to be a show piece, not by a long shot, but if I can't find that emotional connection to a vehicle where I actually love to look at it, it doesn't make it onto any lists of mine. I would definitely rock one if a good enough deal came along, but from an out-right "do you like it or not?" my vote would be "no".

350z gets 2 thumbs down from me. The 370z is where it is at. I am not one of those guys who goes after the latest thing.

I really, really want to drive a 370Z to see what it's like. I feel like it probably has more of the combination of things I'm looking for.
I don't think it would beat out the MZ-coupé for top honors or anything but I'm optimistic. I'm hoping it is more of what I always thought the 350Z should have been.

Cliff, the VQ is in the 95/96 Maxima's ... LoL

it's the smoother vq30... :-)

What I think would rock, is the VQ in the 1990-1994 Maxima SE with IRS...

370z does look nicer, but I think I like the G35 over them all (350, 370, G37).

The biggest problem I see with the VQ37VHR is that it's not too compatible with older oils, or performs very subpar.

Please note that I was referring to the VQ in the g/z chassis. There wasn't a vq30 in the g/z chassis

well in that case, I take it you've never owned a VQ35 or a VQ30 have you?

I'd much rather turbo a VQ30 to make power than have a VQ35.. it's rough compared to the 3.0L.. REALLY rough.. the VQ30 is a very smooth motor..

and are you're talking about a RWD conversion??!? I'd still rather have the previous generation Maxima SE than the 95/96... spacious, lighter, better handling.. it's like the B13 to the B14.. oh but wait, you have/had a B14.... d'oh!!

(hey we are diverting attention from Ben here)

Matt -

I have been in both a VQ30 and VQ35 (Maxima motor with Z IM) powered 98 Maxima, which belonged to my friend. The 30 was sluggish (albeit smooth as you say), and just didn't feel right for his car. The 35 felt TONS better with his car.

And sorry, I didn't mean 95/96 (unless it's the same as the 98?) I have only had experience with his 98.
