I wanted to post up pics of where I installed my battery. It is not nearly as neatly done as the above pictures, but I prefer the location. It is as low as it can be in the trunk and right over where the rear axle would be if it had one for better weight distribution. I used a battery relocation kit from Summit racing and some aluminum square tubing from Home Depot. I have found that it really hasn't disturbed my trunk space too much, I can actually use it as a bit of a shelf as I pack stuff in there. Btw, the battery box is huge, about half of the battery is below the tubing so it doesn't budge. And the pics:

Honestly this works fine but on Most of the vehicles i build, i use welding wire, due to the fact its more heat resistant and and made of Copper.

I run two runs, one directly from the alternator directly to the rear batteries. The other from the rear back to the front , this splits into 2 sections, one to the starter and the other to the vehicle electrical panel.

Emergency cut could also be installed at this time also.
Optimas are awesome batteries for this purpose

the insulation is a little thinner than good automotive wire though

if you race on the track you have to have the kill switch killing the alternator not just the battery
