any of you guys experience a loss in MPG since doing this? My rear o2 sensor is shot so I'm debating whether to replace it or just delete the damn thing.
BTW I still have my cat if it matters. This is on a B15.
Just wondering if any of you guys that deleted the rear sensor has passed emissions inspection? My state requires emissions inspection and the code coming up is the rear o2 sensor and knock sensor (i think they're related because I've never had a knock sensor code before). Anyway I want to bypass the oxygen sensor but I just want to know if it will pass inspection or whether I absolutely need to replace the worn sensor to pass my state inspection.
Rear o2 sensor only checks to see if the catalytic convertor is working. That's all it does.
It is useless to delete it if you have working emissions equipment.
If you just put a resistor on the oxygen sensor, most OBD2 systems will trip up a different check engine light, since these sensors are supposed to output an oscillating voltage pattern and not a solid voltage at all times.
