How to: Create your own radio jumper harness
I DO NOT TAKE ANY RESPONSIBILITY FOR MISTAKES OR FAILURES IN ATTEMPTING THIS. YOU DO SO AT YOUR OWN RISK. Take your time and do it right the first time and you'll have no problems.
I recently put the radio from my b13 into my b14 and realized that the jumper harnesses are different. I didn't feel like paying another $20 to get one for the b14, so I decided to make my own.
Here's what you'll need;
1 old B14 radio
Pliers
Small phillips head screw driver
Flat head screw driver
Soldering gun and solder
Heat shrink to help seal connections
New radio and radio harness
1 lighter for heat shrink
First you'll want to take yor old radio apart.
Next you need to remove the heat sink from the radio. There are 3 screws.
Next you need to remove the plug from the board.
Once it's removed, you'll need to use your pliers to remove the metal brace from the plug. Use your pliers and break the small ceramic rings around the middle rods. Then use your pliers to gently pry the brace away from the plug. This should yield you this.
Take the harness from your new radio and follow the wiring instructions for the radio and wire it to the plug. I used the FSM audio wiring diagram.

Then just find applicable application and look under section EL for electrical wiring and find audio wiring diagram.
This should be your finished product.
