Small cable, jumper two top right terminals in Consult connector (located with the retaining ab pointing down), Engine-key to ON, see CEL flashing!!!
Remove it to drive or leave it in, start engine and see CEL flashing the O2 sensor switching.
Much easier than ECU screw-ing on your back. I always wonder why people still try to retrieve error codes from the ECU!
I understand the gist of what you are saying. You should do a write-up with pics and we can sticky it. Can't you use a paperclip? Much easier.
