P11 Side Airbags

I'm wanting to disconnect the side airbags on the P11, is it safe to just uhook the connectors that are under the seats?

unplug the battery for 10-15mins just to be safe
its gunna set the light if they aren't plugged in

disconnect battrey an disconnect the yellow connectors under the seat. only the yellow the other is power for the tilt an moving fwd an back.
