Staggered TE37 Fitment on P11 Questions...
Crosspost from G20.net...

First off, read through the "Rim and Tire Fittment by Mep" thread a few times already. As such, I still have a few questions I would like to run by your guys.

Background:

1. Setup I am looking to purchase is a set of staggered TE37's (16x7 +33, 16x8 +38) on the CHEAP. That is the only reason I am considering the TE37's. They will NOT be for daily use. Just when I feel like cruising with some bling on a special occasion.

2. Tire size has already been decided (205/50) since my Recon inspection papers are for that size and I don't want to go through the hassle of getting inspection done again.

3. P11 is lowered a decent amount, maybe 2" or so, but not "slammed" by any means. Good inner clearance since I run Tein SS coilovers, though my springs must not be very stiff, as the ride is much more comfortable than the ride in my NX on Tein SS coilovers (i know, I know, P11's are heavier blah blah blah...)

4. I was able to bolt up one of the 16x8's (with current 225/50 tire mounted) to the front and then rear to get a feel for how they fit. Both axles had sufficient clearance while sitting static (front and rear) and while turning full crank to full crank (front). However, I was NOT able to drive with the wheel on to check rubbing on weight transfer (bumps, turns at speed, etc.).

Questions:

1. Does the front or rear of a P11 generally have more space/better clearance? I'm inclined to think the rear has more space, as the front has thethird links that take up quite a bit of clearance. Trying to decide which axle to run which set of wheels. Specs are close enough that I would feel ok running them either way. NOTE: Car will not be doing any type of racing! Just was too good a deal to pass up.

2. I have been reading a lot of back and forth, some support and run this same setup, some say not to go against manufacturer recommendations, but what do you guys think of running 205's on an 8" rim?

2. Offsets: I know it's better to have higher offsets to start so that you can ADD spacers if necessary, but how do those offsets sound with those widths? Anyone run anything comparable? Spacers or fender rolling required?

Anyways, let me know what you guys think!

On my old 02 Sport I had 16x8 +20 with stock 205/50R16 lowered on Eibach and it would rub the rears slightly on big bumps or when cornering with 2 adults in rear. The fronts only rubbed on bumps when cornering hard. With +38 I think you should be dine with fender clearance.
