Thread: Build an Anti-Lift Kit for the P11 Today

Been meaning to build these for couple years now, but never got around to it. Car has been having a hard time keeping down my fairly low power levels (220whp/wtq). Even with 8k springs still was getting pretty major wheel hop at colder temps. Only got a chance to floor the car one time, she held the power down really well, there are some other benefits of reducing Anti-lift and increasing pro-lift too.

Built it out of 9.5mm thick aluminum sheet and new 14x1.5x35mm 10.9 bolts.

This anti-lift kit made the car rotate much better around town! There is a 90* turn that I have to take at fairly low speeds usually, before I did the Heim Joint SRL link, you could feel the car refusing to turn even at sub 15mph speeds. The Heim Joint SRL link reduced the amount of binding in the beam and it made a fairly noticeable difference.

Well the anti-lift kit made even bigger difference, I took the turn at around 20-25mph expecting it to push, instead the front nose turned in no problem and I had to counter steer to avoid the curb. It helped so much with straight line traction and rotation that I'm thinking of building either a 15mm or 20mm kit!

Is this something that could be done by itself? Also, I love the closeup shots, but I'm not sure exactly where on the car I'm looking at.

I have the same problem with the FSM manuals when they show a nice close up drawing of a part, but you have no clue where exactly that part may be hidden to find it.

Of course you can do this mod by itself, but it's not this easy for you B13/B14/P10 guys. Your bushing is sandwiched in instead of being enclosed like it is on B15's and P11's. Thus there is more engineering work involved for you guys.

As for close up shots and where it's at, this is the lower control arms rewarded bushing. But you really should do a lot of reading on how anti-lift kits work, where they are installed at, and why they only apply to FWD and AWD cars. It would not be wise to do a suspension mod when you don't even know where it's supposed to be installed at.

Suspension is still a fuzzy area for me, but I'm trying to catch up.

Nice find, I did just update it with the P11 pictures too! Basically these install by the rearward bushing of the front lower control arms and they lower the mounting point.

Overall I'm very impressed with how much this kit has helped, car has tremendous traction in straight line and even more in very tight corners. After I reduced the toe in from 5/32's to 1/32's the car started to be a bit more oversteer prone, which is a first on this car. Autocrossing I finally could kick the rear end out in some turns, which is a first yet again.

I'll probably try to build 15-20mm kit next and see if it helps any more, and based on how badly daily driving deteriorates will use that as a deciding factor on the size to stick with.
