Having snapped a rod in an SR20, I can confirm that they can in fact run like that.

Well all 4 pistons in the old engine rotated as I turned the engine over. So its definitely not a snapped rod. Either way, new engine is in and running great. I'll post up the photos and videos soon.

Old sad engine saying hi to the new(ish) engine.

Prepped for surgery.

Prepping for cleaning and the intake/exhaust manifold, and power steering pump transplant.

Time for removal.

Engine and transmission removed and separated. The old transmission needed a good pressure wash.

FIN... well. for now. Next up, interior cosmetics, followed by exterior, suspension, upgraded brakes and maybe a simple OE DET turbo addition.
