2002 G20 resurrection
Here goes! Found this P11 on CL. The girl (cute) who owned it said it needed a new engine and that her mechanic told her that cylinder 4 had a snapped rod. I offered her $xxx sight-unseen, she accepted the offer and after a trip to U-Haul to grab a car dolly and a call to my brother (lucky owner of the truck), we were on the road to 2.5 hours to Redding California. I will let the photo's (uploading now) tell the rest of the story and update this thread as I go!

On the road to Redding...

Hello In-N-Out

Got it loaded on the trailer. Battery was dead, so we had to push it on. Luckily it was just downhill enough to get it on. Also note how dark it is outside. Pretty much bought it not really knowing what I was getting in to due to the lack of light and a dead battery.

I woke the next morning to finally go over the car and see what I had paid for and towed home...

Not looking too bad. Just needs some soap and water for the most part. Well, that and some small dent repairs and a cut and buff.

After some soap and water.

Now comes the fun part. How do I get this car in my garage when it doesn't run. My driveway is sloped just enough to make this a pain in the a$$.

After a few hours on the battery charger, I decided to see if she even runs.

Voila, she actually runs! So much for a snapped rod. But there is definitely something wrong. There is a knock and something inside the engine wants out. lol

I will be ordering a jdm DE on Monday. No crazy swap this time. Although I do plan on boosting the DE with factory oem DET bolt-on parts for a little extra HP. I'm not big on boosting NA engines, but the DE with a good tune can easily take 200-220hp. The turbo will likely be done after the cosmetic, suspension and brake upgrades.

Nice it is a pretty car. For the right price I'd pick one up too

Cheap, P11 fixers are out there. You just have to jump on them quickly.
