I THINK that 7100 or so is the redline for the 99. Not 100% sure though.

And yeah, the lowport actually gives you more options for cams if you plan to build/turbo the motor you have.

what was the mis-info regarding the limited slip?

Well, I already knew he was wrong on that one because it's even in the original advertisements for the 99. But he kept saying I didn't have limited slip. The confusion there is between the regular and touring models. Touring models DO come with limited slip standard.

Okay... so here's a picture of that tachometer. There is really no way I can call that redline anything above 7k. If anything it DOES appear to be slightly less the 7k. So hearing my buddy who's owned sr20's for many years tell me it was a lowport, and then looking at that tach (to me it looks like it redlines at almost exactly 6800, but I don't know, maybe someone will see it different), one might see how I was fairly convinced it was an rr...

Actually I guess the first red mark would be just barely past that last white mark (6750) if it was at 6800...

This may change your desistion on what to get.. 2000-2002 is the way to go.. The stepper idle control is much nicer and I can drive them just fine!!! This video is AJ's car before we turboed it and literally just started it for the 1st time.. Sensors not calibrated wideband not hooked up and just guess a tune based on some math and she fired right up no problem.. I kept the stepper motor open most the way to idle it high so I can lock the timing and time the engine.!!

Also before we knew any better.. My wife has the 1st roller rocker I know of back in early 1999 she got it imported and she pulled her GA16 out and was trying to put it in .. Long story short some chick needed help with her car. I helped her and now we are married .. Anyways I was going to say we where reeving that engine to 7700RPM as we didn't know any better we just stuck in a B14 JWT ECU and away we went ..
