1999 or 2002??
I found 2 G20's for sale and both look outstanding from pictures. Besides the $$ difference between them. Are there any major difference between these two years that would make or break which one to buy? Or are both just the same besides minor interior trim and the year? Thanks for responses.

99 I believe is the lightest of all p11s and also the ecu is the easiest to convert for aftermarket ecus. 99 is also a lowport engine whereas the 00+ are roller rocker motors.

Outside of minor weight and the ecu (which could be a big deal depending on goals) motor type and trim they are the same chassis.

Goals..... I will daily drive it and take the red top det out of my nx (267hp) and want to build the hell out of it. I say a year or two then into the G20. I guess I should of listed my plans as well.

99 is an eaisier swap harness wise.

Ok. Any other differences? Im steering towards the 99 seeming that would be easier for future swap. But what about all of your personal preference. If you had a choice, which would you buy. Both 5 speed? Thanks for input.

the 99 for the easier ecu/harness setup, because you can always swap a stronger tranny in if you blow it up.

00+ is slightly nicer, like remote trunk release and a few here and there things including a stronger trans.

ECU rewiring is a must if you want it to be tunable though. Which is painful but not impossible.

00+ is best if you want to keep it stockish, RR's are much more peppy and get better gas mileage then 99 lowports.

@shagspeed has a ECU setup that should be plug and play I know that he has been tinkering with. That should get you around majority of wiring & tuning issues so I vote for the 2002 - especially if it is blue with the leather/suede interior.

The 2002 was also a fantastic in all ways but one: acceleration. I test drove one before I got my B15, couldn't believe it was powered by an SR20 - but wow did it drive nice!!!!! So Id say 2000 if you just want a nice ride
