Done, cleaned up and done. Even spent some time chatting it up with a couple of the neighbors. Overall not a tough job, just in a bad spot and a bit time consuming. No busted knuckles, just one bent screwdriver (thanks pulley). I left the inner slash shield off on that side and tomorrow morning I'll hit the car wash and get up in that bitch.

Just sat down with a cold beer to celebrate a (seemingly) job well done.

Beer times two. Except I did not get to work on my G20 today.

No whine, no belts squealing and no apparent leaks. By jove, I think I've got it!

before you wrap up this project for good you may want to replace the fluid with ATF. The ps fluid eats up our seals and will cause a leak sooner then later.

i pulled this from a b14 fsm

Little too late, I wrapped up yesterday. My P10 FSM says the same thing so the fluid I used is "suitable for Dexron II applications". And if it starts leaking again I'm going to burn it.

Upon further review I decided I wasn't taking any chances, even though I couldn't find anything definitive stating that "power steering fluid" in it's simplest form was harmful to the PS pump and system. But since exchanging the fluid is damn simple (and cheap) I swung by Pep Boys on the way home from work and picked up 2 quarts of Dexron III. Took me about 15 minutes. Done.

Next weekend I may swap out another quart for good measure.
