Thread: Buying P10 with bad auto trans, what's required for 5-speed swap?

After almost a full year without a car, I'm finally getting back in the game. Found a '95 P10 that looks to be in good shape but something is wrong with the auto trans. I have yet to go look at it, will do that Saturday. Instead of putting a new auto in it, what's required for the 5-speed swap?

5-speed trans
Clutch
Flywheel
Pedals
ECU?
Axles?

Are P10's clutch cable or hydraulic?

P10s have cables for the clutch.

You can use the auto cross member, the front mount will not be there on your auto cross member. You need the shifter stabilizer and control rods, the rear engine mount for the control rod to bolt into.

New axles for M/T. Along with the other bits you mentioned.
You can use the same ECU but you will get a CEL on obviously since the auto is gone.

Alright, thanks. Decision will be made based on money, if I can get a used auto trans pretty cheap up front just to get the car on the road I may just do that. Then slowly gather parts and get the 5-speed swap done the right way. (with lightweight flywheel, etc)
