Screw sport seats, they are like leather, but since they have holes you still can't get away with spilling things on them.

Cloth or go home

I will report back with my test-drive impressions!

If you have had no issues with a Sentra then your luck might be the same with an 00+ P11. I honestly wouldn't spend too much time on the 99, it doesn't even have a remote fob trunk open. It's the little things that made me decide what year I went with.

Hate them, but it's a fairly easy fix!

Meh cloth to me still looks like a 200sx or cheap frontier. A g20 is a luxury car, leather or go home.

Cloth is for poor men

And i dont have a problem with cloth, im just being a ass

Are you talking about the perforated suede/leather sport seats from the '02? If so, I don't like them either. I am not a fan of the two-tone interior of the '02 sport! Way too busy and UGLY! Of course I am basing all of this off of pictures as I haven't personally sat in a '02 sport yet.

Modding a '99 would definitely be easier but even if I decide to mod a '99 I would still have to deal with rear o2 differences, EGR, MAF (if going bigger), etc, if I wanted to do a full JDM swap. This is presuming I am using an early model OBDII ECU. The only extra work for the 32-bit, as you know, is the idle stuff and a step-down which isn't the end of the world. Truthfully I NEED a simple non-modified DD anyway. Some bolt-ons/power-finders will be fine, Hopefully! LOL

Don't like the no remote trunk opener thing either. I am in and out of the back alot with my tools.

Vadim, I have seen your cup-holder mod. Nice work there! I'll tell you what though, if I decide to get an '01 Touring, the first thing I will do is rip out the fake wood-grain cup holder surround and try to find a plain black one from a '99 G20. I like the '99 interior better. It's too bad Infiniti didn't steal the cup holder from the B15 Sentra. It is nice and functional. It has two-individual holders and that piece comes out to reveal a larger area for BIG GULPS, if you are so inclined.

1999 G20 cup holder.

B15 Sentra cup holder

I am sure your build thread will come in handy if I settle on a P11.5, as you seem to have more "How-to" write-ups than Infiniti!

I agree, not diggin' the cloth either. I have never been a fan of having leather seating, especially in the summer but I like the look of the 99-01 full black leather seats. Looks up-scale!

Test driving a '01 Touring tomorrow. Hoping to test-drive a tastefully modified (I am hesitant here, we will see) '99 on Monday. All of the '02's I have looked at so far are over-priced!

I am going to try and keep my grubby hands off of this one! If I do any mods, they will be bolt-on mods or aesthetic upgrades. No engine swaps.

99 P11 ftw. All black interior ftw. Simple electrical system ftw. Peep my seats.

^ Looks nice!! Love dark interiors!

So, I test drove a '01 Touring today. It drove nice, shifted smooth, suspension is soft but that can be worked on, I suppose. Compression test was solid. Unfortunately the plastic parts on the exterior look like they've been in a fight with Mike Tyson! Was able to get $500 off the original asking price but it looks like I will need to put 500-1000 into paint to make it to my liking. Pretty much rust free though, save for some stone chips.

Hoping to get to drive the '99 tomorrow.

I have a question. Isn't there supposed to be something inside of the arm rest? Like a cup holder or something? The one I looked at today was empty.

Yea there is. But it still sucks. Best bet is get a JDM center console or go with a single DIN headunit and get the sable/taurus cupholder/coin tray combo.

I thought so. I guess I will have to try and track down a JDM console. 2 cupholders for ME!

Anybody have a pic of the P11 JDM centre console??

So I ended up picking up a 2001 G20t 5-speed today. What can I say? I wish I had bit the bullet and got the '05 Mazda 6 GT Sport. The B15 SE w/ PP is hands down a better car. The only thing the P11 has over the B15 is the Leather and the black interior. It "looks" more upscale. It appears to be a bit better on gas as well. The functionality of ALL of the the P11 interior components compared to the B15 are non-existent. It will serve a purpose for the next couple of months until I can find something more to my liking.

That is all.
