My car got back from being detailed and looks brand new, barley a scratch in the entire car. Even the Leather is 99% of new. The only real wear is on the steering wheel leather in two small places. Exterior paint is super smooth to the touch and uber shiny, the dash and console looks like it just came off the showroom floor and even carpets have zero stains.

My car was driven by a woman before I purchased it, she took excellent care of the car and it shows. Hell, even the hood and grill only have a few small stone chips that you have to look close to see.

You'd be hard pressed to find another 01 G20 this nice, and when the MAF goes fubar, the car is worth fixing.

Def. it is just an MAF, yet vital to the whole operation of the car, they are not a difficult part to acquire, just something that has been reported as being a sometime bunk part.

It's always the maf! I can't wait to get my wife's car off the 00 ecu and just use a E60 maf.

Also I have a few spare if you ever need one.

Gas mileage is great, wow, and it dawned on me at one point, that maybe it's a Japanese BMW that looks like a Saab.

That's the reason I liked P11s. They kind of look like Saabs to me.

I looked, drove and read on Saab for a couple of weeks and especially the 9-3. The thing i didn't like about the saab was the front windshield always felt a little small, like I was driving and looking through an airplane window.

They are actually more reliable than what most people think. After you clean the oil pan filters you're oil sludge problem typically goes away.

There is a post out there somewhere that asks "Would you buy another Saab?" and the majority say yes. It's also interesting the number of people with old saab's that drop new saab motors in them over 250k.

I agree, great body style and Classics never go out of style. I bet someday, we'll see 1994 U13 Altimas on TV selling like 1950 corvettes.

I liked saab and could deal with the repair issues knwing what I know, but couldn't deal with the visibility personally. I drove a few and the 9-3 seemed smaller inside than the g20. It may not be, but felt that way to me.

My first mod is about to happen! The tint guy is on his way to my house.

My last car I put 20% all around, it's going to be 35% this time to keep the car light and bright, and not feel so small inside. Comfortable, functional and clean and keep the g20 naturally sexy.

Now you wont really know what a P11/SR20 is all about until you drive a boosted one. Once you get a taste of the torque it's hard to ever go back. For now start out small though, the 00+ P11's have a few restrictions that if you remove can really liven it up.

First thing is get an intake, but watch out with the MAF's, they are sensitive to vibrations so keep it steady. Next get an SSAC header. This one really helped my other daily P11. The cat right next to the engine really hurts the performance.

That and side gapped plugs is all I have on my wife's car and it's pretty fun to drive without AC on. Next I'm dropping a VE into it, that should be last of mods for that thing .

My biggest concern is the automatic transmission. My car has 115k on the clock and I need this transmission to go to 150k or beyond.

I changed my tint, 35% on the doors but 20% in the rear. The g20 has so much rear window room that faces upwards towards the sun, I think it makes sense to go darker in that one window for cooling. This should also darken the look of the 35% and still be street legal.

My friend has a 1999 Infiniti g20 automatic with 215k miles on the original transmission that works without issues FWIW

Thanks that's good to know. Japanese automatics seem to shift differently than German cars and I've driven some that shifted very hard in some gears and other gears smoothly. When I asked about this one time on a test drive, I was told it's normal.

It seems to me that the #1 thing the Japanese can't seem to engineer is automatic transmissions. If you want a Honda, the smart money get's a manual tranny.
