Thread: P11 and WAI/CAI Problems?

I've heard about the MAF problems with WAI's and CAI's on the P11 (00-01) particularly.

Whats the deal with this? Anyway to get around this?

I'm about to install a WAI and a flow stack and thought I would check before doing it

because most cai's for the b15 se arent mounted to the firewall against vibrations. IE my place racing one.

aem does have one though. otherwise thats it.

Is the maf more sensitive to vibrations, etc?

Doing a WAI setup I might incorporate some kind of a holder..

Never had a problem with my MAF...threw a CEL once, gave it a good cleaning and it made the boo-boo go away. Needing to replace the MAF is not uncommon with P11's though. You can get new ones for about $100. I think it usually gives you a P0171 when the MAF is gone. Not sure exactly "how" it fails.

Hmm I gotta check the voltages.. it might be the hidden reason behind my crappy gas mileage on the P11

Installed the BPi Flow stack on the car.



What do you guys usually do with the MAP sensor?

Damn all my experience with G20's and I have never heard anyone having problems with CAI/WAI on P11 and have never heard of an SR20 using a MAP sensor?

About the MAP sensor, on 98+ cars it all has them. It's labeled as a Boost sensor. On my 99 SE-L I had it on my intake manifold, not in the stock airbox. My Scangauge would then give a reading under the gauge labeled as MAP. Now after I went with a 96 ECU, that gauge would not show any data.
