Thread: Weird idle after Thermal Block Spacer Install

I doubt they will hold any in, you only need to spray a little bit to be able to tell if there is a leak anyways. It's not like you have the nozzle directly on one small area, you mist it some what in a larger area and see if your cars idle is effected at all, if so you have a leak.

do all of the vacuum lines effect the idle?
there isnt specific ones that the ECU will try and make up vacuum by revving higher?

CAREFUL WITH CARB CLEANER! On the can it says DO NOT USE ON FUEL INJECTORS. There is a reason for that, it will ruin them or make them leaky.

Get yourself some injector safe cleaner.

As for the weird idle, not exactly sure, mine does idle weird, but we are talking about a DET that hasn't ran in ages and is running on stock ecu LOL

Thats only if it goes through the injector body. AKA don't clean the insides with carb cleaner. There should be no harm done to the outside.

There should be no reason to spray anythign even on the fuel injectors when searching for a manifold leak so he is ok

I keep on forget with High Ports, you don't have to worry about carb cleaner getting all over injectors like on the low ports

IMO the best way to check to see if you have a leak, is with a pressure tester. Like the one below.

dont usually pressure testers have like a gauge that tell you how much vacuum of pressure is being made?

Yes, but they don't show if you have a leak. You will always have vacuum going into the engine, but that doesn't mean pre manifold the piping is not leaking air.
