Thread: PS delete questions

I was looking around the new site and came accross the PS delete linky

do you just loop the lines with this kit? The belt that is recomended, is that with or without AC? I'd assume if one were to be removing the PS the AC would be gone too.

the power steering belt runs on the block side of the pulley (the thinner belt) and the AC runs on the outer side of the pulley (the thicker belt) so if you were to delete the power steering, it does not interfere with the AC.

Sorry to those that might get pissed, but i'm bringing this back from the dead. With that kit, what belt would I need if I don't have a/c? Same belt I have now, right?

I am running this EXACT same setup. I also highly advise you to find a Sentra "E" model manual steering rack (they came w/o P/S from the factory) to go along with it. it will free up some power. Oh and the only time it kinda sucks is parallel parking or turning when moving slow. when you drive normally it feels better IMO

Yea... my original post is from 6 years ago. I decided shortly after that on the true manual rack and a mezziere electric water pump. Now only my alternator is belt driven.

But understand the E rack has a longer ratio than the SE-R rack. And if you keep your rack you can just hook up a little fluid reservoir to keep it lubed.

Do you need the fluid reservoir? Just looping the lines at the rack is no longer good? I'm not doing this yet, but I may do it in the near future.
