what is it that really makes you consider the gt28r at all? given you really re looking for more whp than spool? maybe its slightly you liking the spool factor.

like if there was a gt28r that made the whp of t28 but spool of gt28r lol

Well some people like to vouch for the GT28R and I just wanted to see why they prefer this turbo. Plus Crim has been messing with my head telling me all this crap about the GT28R and how good it is.

i think the main attraction with pretty much ALL gt series turbos is the quicker\lower rpm spool times. i think that is the # 1 answer someone would give you

I don't think so. the 2871 is bigger and can net more power.

It all depends what power range your looking for and WHEN your looking to reach that power.
I didn't not tap the full power of my T28.. I didn't even pass 10psi but I can tell you it's a GREAT turbo to have if you live in a congested city like NYC or something similar where that quick spooling matters.

I've driven a T3/T4 turbo and without a DOUBT it's what i'm going with.
The T28 is a great turbo.. But a Good T3 turbo is cheaper then a brand new T28 and you can even find some T3/T4 turbos cheaper then it cost to rebuild a turbo now and days.
Honda-Tech is a good place to find a nice used but NEW turbo for a good price.

But yes I know, New manifold DP and I/C piping.. lol

If your going to spend money on a new turbo, and the option of rebuilding is an imperitive priority it seems its probably a good idea to rock the GTIR turbo. It's probably the turbo I'll stick with for a while, but thats only because I work with what I got.

What are the chances that you will bust a new ball bearing turbo though? I was just wondering.

thats one of the reasons I stuck with the gti-r over getting a spud when I needed a turbo also the spud cost $300 more

Stick with the T28 and get a good equal lenght manifold
