Turbo Issues
As some people might know, my T25 blew after a bad boost controller install. Well I ordered another and received it today and put it on. The Old turbo was shot to **** as it hit about 20lbs twice. The fins were bent to **** and there was about an inch of shaft play haha. Well after I got my new one on and a fresh oil change I figure everything should be fine...wrong apparently I'm leaking coolant now from the turbo. Only way there could be coolant in my intercooler piping and shoot it outta my BOV.

After I got it on I took it for a spin and at about 4k or right before boost it bucks the car like a SOB. I have no idea if just the turbo leaking coolant could cause this? or what, but it is not very pleasant to feel in the car haha. Anyone got any ideas? I thought maybe it was my injector but it seems to be attached fine. I'm gonna look into it a little more tomorrow. If I slowly take it up it will boost but it really feels like it don't want to. If anyone has any ideas let me know, I'll get a video up of it tomorrow to help the description a little more.

have you checked your spark plugs? what are your gap? does it seem like the boost is being blown out?

also what about the MAF is it in good condition, try regrounding it.

my guess is probably a ignition problem, if your fuel and EMS is straight.

bucking is normally a few things, spark being blown out or spark cutting out from iginiton failure ,maf issues or fuel....if the car ran ok before i would start with simple checks

Time to get your money back for that new turbo if you ask me.

Yeah, if your ingesting coolant into your engine soon your going to have a blown engine. Water/coolant does not compress. I would NOT drive it if I were you.

yeah i know but i don't really got a choice it's my DD... it didn't do any of this before. The turbo that was on it i beleive the oil seals went and the bearings cuz it smoked like a bitch but i don't think the coolant seals went cuz it didn't do this before. I need to just buy a brand new turbo As for the bucking I need to check the plugs and maf because the maf might gota junked up from oil when it was burning it before. And would an exhaust leak from the manifold/turbo maybe cause this, Realized that had a leak after I got everything together.

yeah you should get your money back for it, I have a t25 that came off my old setup, it does have some shaft play but very minimal, it does not burn oil and it was in perfect working condition when i took it off to switch to a t28, its an s13 t25 so if you want to use it just switch the compressor housings and you will be good to go. that is pretty simple to do also.

$100 plus shipping on that if you want it.

Neways yeah it sounds like the inside of the turbo in the coolant passage is cracked. Neways good luck man.

Yeah I don't wanna mess with any turbos anymore haha I just want to put one on and it be fine. Thinking of just upgrading to a t28 setup and just bolting it to my manifold and 02 housing.

If you have to drive it clamp the coolant lines off so you won't run the risk of killing your motor

ya got something there haha didn't even think about that thanks. but i go out to my car this morning and i have a flat tire now... it was low last night and i forgot to refill it after i got done putting the new one on. Pretty sure the bead is leaking so thats fun now. I'll try clamping the coolant lines off and see what happens still don't explain the bucking its doing.

di you check the shaft play before or after install? or both? noramlly small ammounts of shaft play without oil in the journal is fine, and normally with oil pressure built in the journal will stiffen up that shaft play
